Food was good and prices were in line with those in Chania city centre, but the service was a bit lacking. In most Greek restaurants, it’s customary to be offered a small treat after the meal, such as a shot of raki or a sweet bite. Unfortunately, nobody bothered to bring us anything, even though we spent over €130 on our meal. Don’t get me wrong – I can easily pay for raki or dessert myself – but it’s a nice and very common gesture across Greece, and even much smaller, cheaper restaurants do it as a simple way of saying “thank you for dining with us.” That’s the reason for the 4-star rating.

A gem of a restaurant. We ate in a number of good restaurants while we were in Crete, but this one we went back to 3 times as we so enjoyed the food, the choice of wine and knowledgable team who were great at suggesting wines for each dish. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful food and a lovely welcome. Best to book ahead if you can - even if it’s for just a bit later the same evening. Grilled shrimp with lemon and with parsley gremolata a particular favourite. 😍

Very welcoming restaurant, centrally located but away from the hustle and bustle. Excellent food and generous portions. The best restaurant of our Greek holiday. Friendly, smiling, and courteous staff. Highly recommended.

This was our first meal in Chania, and it was memorably wonderful! The boureki in particular was phenomenal. Great service, great location, would recommend.

The food has been one of the biggest surprises of this vacation. You go looking for a nice dinner on your last night and find a pleasant, cute place, away from the hustle and bustle, and you're met with an absolute riot of flavors you didn't expect. The friendliness is also plentiful, the correctness, the cleanliness... you always want it, and they nail it here. Simple atmosphere, excellent background music—jazz, swimming, big bands—soft and at a volume that allows for conversation.

Kalderimi is a lovely restaurant at the edge of Chania‘s Old Town. The food is amazing, the service is friendly and quick and the design and interior are very chic and tasteful. I had the tangy, zesty fish carpaccio as a starter and the lamb cooked in wine and herbs. Both dishes were more than great! The fish was very fresh and the lamb cooked so softly that it just slipped off the bone! I highly recommend this place.

Very good local dishes, there's something for everyone. There's no long menu, which is usually a good sign, and it is. There's more room for dessert because the dishes are generous.

Bad experience. They look at you suspiciously when there are free tables. Okay, let's wait. Average food, high prices, slow and pretentious service.

This was the best place I ate in 5 days in Crete. Most flavorful salad, excellent pasta dish, and the panna cotta was divine. Better than Pallas we went to earlier in the week by a mile.

We tried this little restaurant in the old town area, just steps from the seafront. The atmosphere is beautiful and intimate, with tables stretching out along a charming street. The food is good, with generous portions. Prices are in line with those in Chania. Recommended.
Located in a small alley near the harbor in Chania. Excellent food, fresh and delicious. A great restaurant!

The place has a more sophisticated feel than a quaint tavern, yet it still has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, located on a fairly quiet street.
Having made reservations, we didn't have to wait; we were immediately seated at a table outside the restaurant. The service was initially professional, friendly, and unobtrusive. We received a delicious portion of fava beans with paprika (!), then tried several dishes, including dolma and stuffed zucchini flowers, a salad with figs, and lamb—all truly exquisite, tasty, and balanced.
So far, so good. Prices were a little higher than the average for places I've tried previously, but the quality and service were also high. Then, a few small things happened that, unfortunately, ruined the experience a bit for me.
    > My boyfriend and I wanted to finish with a dessert from the menu, but suddenly our table was cleared, including the placemats; so we gave up, deciding to satisfy our sweet tooth elsewhere. It's a mistake that can happen, but I sensed a rush to clear the table, perhaps to accommodate other customers.
    > When paying, the waiter handed me the note asking for a tip, something I really don't like and that didn't happen anywhere else during our 15 days in Crete. Despite the high bill (€52 for two), we still decided, somewhat embarrassed, to leave a tip, ending up with €57.
    > Here's the unpleasant surprise: getting up from my chair, a little perplexed by the high-than-average bill for an appetizer, a salad, a main course, and water, I checked the receipt and discovered that what we thought was a freebie (the small dish of fava beans) had been charged to us. This is common in Portugal, for example, but I don't think it's the norm in Crete, where raki, fruit, and dessert are often offered at the end of the meal. Beyond the inelegant and improper gesture of bringing an unsolicited dish, I think it's right to point out to the customer that it's not a freebie and will be charged at the end of the meal.

We've been back twice to this little restaurant in a beautiful alley in Chania's Old Town. The food is divine! The dolmas are spectacular, and so is the panna cotta! The waiters and manager are very kind and attentive to detail.

We didn’t order the bread and we said that we are gluten free, but they left in on our table anyway and then we have to pay for it. We order Fava and salad, Fava was super small and not tasty. This with bread and water that they add to the bill was pretty expensive.

Food was very good, but the ravioli had a bit too much truffle Oil. Wine was very good and Staff was kind.

Edit: went back a year later and the ravioli was perfect. The frutti del mare was also very good, but we only got 4 mussles and only 2 of the 4 was edible.

Without a doubt, the best Cretan salad in Chania. A pure delight, with a very good mix of ingredients and well-seasoned. The saganaki cheese is also excellent, as are the vine leaves. As everywhere in Crete, for dessert, you're offered watermelon and raki. A restaurant to visit!

The location is nice. Away from the worst tourist spots and a view of the sea down the road.
Very nice service without being intrusive or intrusive. My husband had lamb which he loved, I had linguini del mare. Very good taste but a little bit short on seafood in it. Only 2 mussels where one had not opened and 4 scampi. That was it.
But all in all very worth the visit also price-wise.

For our first night in Chania we tried this restaurant near the harbour. The menu is not very extensive which is a good sign and the options all sounded nice. Compared to restaurants in the rest of Crete this felt pricier but it could simply be Chania prices.
I ordered the pork souvlaki which was very tasty and well cooked. I could have eaten more of it though!
